Adani Data Networks, the Adani Group company that participated in the 5G spectrum auction in 2022, is expected to launch 5G network services soon. The company is reportedly currently in talks with a vendor who is also working with Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) to help with the equipment and technology needed to roll out 5G. As a reminder, Adani Data Networks only bid for airwaves worth Rs 212 crore, and the company’s strategy is to focus solely on the B2B segment. Adani Group does not want to enter the consumer mobile services sector yet. The waves that Adani has taken are entirely in the 26 GHz frequency and would be very useful for businesses to set up captive private networks.
So, what is the name of the supplier Adani Group is talking to?
Adani Group is in talks with this company for the deployment of 5G
Adani Data Networks is reportedly in talks with Nokia. According to a report by ET Telecom, Nokia is in contact with the Adani Group and may help the company offer private 5G services to customers in India.
Adani Data Networks has 100 MHz airwaves in Mumbai and Gujarat circles while in AP (Andhra Pradesh), Rajasthan, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu the company has 50 MHz airwaves ( each of the circles).
The company has also applied for a universal license in the six circles. These are the six circles the Adani Group would initially focus on with its 5G plans. Adani is taking a very calibrated approach with his 5G plans because he understands the kind of risk the telecom industry carries. Only three private telecom service providers exist today, and that’s a great sign for the group to take measured steps and not risk too much capital.
Going with the B2B segment could be considered the smartest move with 5G for any new company, like Adani Data Networks.
