BRD Groupe Societe Generale SA: The income and expenditure budget for 2022 approved by the GSM from April 28, 2022

MACROECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT

Note: All macroeconomic assumptions for 2022 were prepared in August 2021

Romania the economy performed well in 2021, supported mainly by private consumption and investment. Net exports, on the other hand, were sharply negative, reflecting weak external demand and supply chain disruptions.

On an annual basis, real GDP grew by 5.6% in 2021, while the fiscal assumption for 2022 was set at 3.5%

(hypothesis prepared in August 2021).

The sharp rise in energy prices (combined effect of the liberalization of the domestic electricity retail market and the increase in international oil and gas prices), the recovery in demand and the very low rate of unemployment should lead to high inflationary pressures. Strong pressure on wages is expected.

Annual inflation increased from 2.1% in December 2020 to 8.2% in December 2021, and is expected to average 2.6% in 2022 (assumption prepared in August 2021).

Assumption of a slightly higher 3M ROBOR (1.7%) compared to the mid-2021 level (assumption prepared in August 2021).

Expectation of solid credit market growth in a relatively buoyant environment (assumption established in August 2021).
