Emergency plan for the telecoms sector: Center greases the wheels of telecoms, but how far can they go?

Synopsis

The government finally blinked and put in place a back-up plan for the telecommunications sector. This move triggered a rally in Vi shares, with the share surpassing 27%. But does the relief package actually serve as a healing touch, or will it result in more pain in the future? Here is our analysis.

The moments of a close shave are special. They compensate for viral videos, leave people in shock and awe and provide a sense of relief. It could be a vehicle pivoting on a soggy highway managing to regain balance over time. A batsman in a cliffhanger of a cricket match who gets played, but the bonds refuse to fall. Or, it could be anyone who finally finds a gas pump after driving for hours on end on spare fuel. These are all “phew” moments in life.
