Golden State searches for gold in neighboring Hemi’s Yule project

Drilling is underway on Golden State Mining’s Yule gold project in Pilbara’s Mallina Basin, as the company aims to find the region’s next big discovery in the footsteps of recent pioneers.

Current work includes 4,000m of reverse circulation drilling on four gold target zones identified by Golden State (ASX: GSM) during last year’s extensive exploration program.

Target 1 East is a mineralized shear close to an interpreted intrusive, where 4 m at 2.3 grams per tonne of gold have been previously recorded, including 1 m at 7.6 g / t gold from 99 mr.

Target 1 West is home to interpreted buried intrusives similar to those of Hemi, the De Gray Mining giant (ASX: DEG) where an initial mineral resource of 6.8 million ounces was recently defined with much exploration on the rise .

This project is a close neighbor of Yule, located just 15 km to the southeast.

Target 2A has an arsenic anomaly of 800 m by 1400 m – often a gold scout – as well as a few anomalous gold intersections.

The last of the targets to be drilled, Target 5 harbors extensive quartz-sericite-pyrite and local magnetite alteration that may indicate a large-scale gold system.

After experiencing some delays in getting the platform up and running, GSM Managing Director Mike Moore said the company is delighted that things are on track.

“The company is very happy to have secured a drilling rig in this current environment where availability is a big challenge,” he said.

“This means that we can now move forward and begin our highly anticipated 4,000m follow-up RC drill program on the intrusive-style interpreted targets that were confirmed during the first two phases of core drilling in 2020.

“The company continues to generate and systematically test targets within its strategic ground position in the Mallina Basin, with just over 700 km2 of concessions now made to Yule. “

More exploration to come

The planned RC drilling program is just one of many GSM planned for the second part of 2021.

The company plans to undertake a 1,500m RC lithium program on four targets at Yule, as well as an extensive 15,000m lithium and gold aerial core program on its very promising land.

They hope to replicate the success of De Gray in Hemi – a leading roadside gold find that made headlines across the country.
