OnePlus 10 Pro would be unveiled on January 11. More details

As OnePlus prepares to present its next OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone, it looks like we won’t have to wait long to see it, as rumors suggest that the latest phone will be available in the first week of January 2022.

Earlier, co-founder and CEO Pete Lau wrote on Weibo, as Gizmodo spotted “OnePlus 10 Pro, see you in January”.

So, while it has already been confirmed by the CEO of OnePlus that the next OnePlus 10 Pro will launch next month, some rumors suggest that the phone will be available during the first week of the month.

According to GSM Arena, an alleged promotional video of the device has leaked in China and brings the revelation of the supposed exact announcement date.

If this video is truly a leaked promotional video and not someone exercising wishful thinking, then the official launch would be January 11.

Needless to say, since the video is aimed at the Chinese market, the January 11 date, while accurate, will likely only refer to the phone’s Chinese launch. This can happen before, or even after, the global launch.

The OnePlus 10 Pro was spotted in a benchmark database earlier today and was certified yesterday with 80W fast charging. It is expected to have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset at the helm, a primary rear camera from 50 MP with Hasselblad branding and 6.7-inch curved LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.

According to GSM Arena, past rumors suggest that the battery capacity is 5,000mAh. The phone should hopefully run Android 12 right off the bat.

Meanwhile, rumors suggest the device will be the only model in the 10-series lineup. Leaks suggest the 10 Pro will ship with a 6.7-inch QHD Plus display, making it exactly the same. size than the current OnePlus 9 Pro. The screen appears to dominate the front of the phone, interrupted by a punch hole camera cut out at the top with curved glass on the sides.

The screen can have a refresh rate of 120Hz – as seen on the OnePlus 9 Pro – and will likely include a fingerprint scanner hidden invisibly underneath. The phone is rumored to include a 5,000mAh battery that supports 125W fast charging over a wired connection.

The OnePlus 9 Pro supported 65W fast charging, which already took the phone from 1% to full in just 30 minutes. Doubling that power output would mean that you could get a huge amount of charge in a very short period of time.
