OxygenOS 12 update for OnePlus 9, 9 Pro rolled out again

Shenzhen: OnePlus initially started shipping the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro around the start of this month.

The company then pulled the update a few days later, after the internet was filled with reports of huge bugs, errors, and miscellaneous issues. Today, the update is finally back, according to GSM Arena.

This time the version is marked C.39, while the first try was C.36. Needless to say, those who have been stuck with C.36 since its release earlier this month should definitely install the new version ASAP, as that will hopefully resolve all issues.

On the other hand, if you haven’t updated to C.36, it might be better to wait a week or so until it’s clear that the new C.39 version is actually usable and does not introduce any new bugs.

Theoretically, things should be working fine now, as OnePlus mentioned that it fixes the most reported issues including mobile data connection failure, phone notifications not visible, freezes, display issues, and more. .

However, some issues like autofill in Chrome and temporary lack of access to Ultra HD 48M / AUX camera on GCam will be fixed “in the follow-up update plan”.

According to GSM Arena, the rollout is incremental, meaning only a small percentage of units are getting it today, with a larger rollout starting at some point in the coming days.
