With the acquisition of SOG Knives, the outdoor giant is expanding its offerings of specialized blades, multi-tools and EDC.
GSM Outdoors continues to grow in breadth and depth. This week, the specialist in hunting and shooting sports continues this trend by acquiring SOG.
Established in 1986, SOG Specialty Knives has built its reputation on its pragmatic tactical designs. “SOG [is] synonymous with austere knives designed to meet the needs of defense professionals, ”said Eddie Castro, CEO of GSM.
“The name was immediately recognized by military personnel, first responders and blade enthusiasts for their high-quality craftsmanship and reliable performance. “
SOG first specialized in fixed blades intended for defense and survival professionals. But it has since diversified its products with folding knives, multitools and each postponement of a day.
SOG’s constant expansion over the years has allowed it to maintain its reputation. Today, buyers continue to recognize it as a producer of superior and durable equipment. Recently, the company has diversified into ultralight carbon fiber rooms.
With the acquisition, GSM appears to be focused on expanding SOG’s offerings, although it’s not entirely clear what that will look like at this time.
“Our acquisition of SOG represents a significant expansion of the GSM family of brands,” said Castro, “and we look forward to taking the brand to this next level of consumer support and product innovation. “
