Major Wall Street indices also posted a decline after weaker-than-expected US job growth allayed concerns about the Federal Reserve’s more rapid monetary policy tightening. The Labor Department said in its employment report that non-farm payrolls increased by 210,000 jobs in November. It has been a week of gains and losses for the stock markets as investors digested updates on the newly detected variant of the Omicron coronavirus as it spreads globally and forces countries to reimpose restrictions of travel.
