Separately, the company has revealed that it will collaborate with the three main operators in the country. This collaboration will help Vivo deliver SMS functionality on Watch 2 via eSIM.
Additionally, Vivo presented two finishes of its upcoming smartwatch at a public event. Unfortunately, the company has kept key details about its upcoming laptop under wraps. Nonetheless, Vivo will shed light on the Watch 2’s key specifications, features, and design at the launch event. As a reminder, the brand has been teasing the smartwatch for some time now. For example, it was revealed that the watch will come with eSIM support. Additionally, the company also revealed how much battery life the laptop will provide.
Vivo Watch 2 Design Revealed
The Chinese tech giant presented the Vivo Watch 2 at an in-person event on December 19. The smart watch features a circular dial and adopts a simple design. In addition, the side edge houses two buttons that can help control various functions. Apart from that, the company will offer the watch in two attractive finishes. These include matte black and metallic silver. In addition to that, you will be able to choose from several band options.
In addition, Vivo announced a collaboration with the three big Chinese telecommunications companies during the press conference. It will team up with China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Additionally, Vivo noted that the Watch 2 will be the company’s first smartwatch to feature eSIM-based SMS functionality. In other words, the Watch 2 can support SMS communication even if it is not paired with another device via Wi = Fi, Bluetooth or the Internet. The three Chinese telecom giants will facilitate this functionality.
Launch date, price and availability
The Vivo Watch 2 will launch in China on December 22. However, it will not be launched at the same time in India, according to a report by HindustanTimes. In addition, the Vivo Watch 2 has increased in pre-booking on the Vivo China website. However, pricing details were not disclosed. The watch will only be official in China. In other words, users in other countries, including India, will have to wait. Nevertheless, the Watch 2 is expected to hit store shelves in India soon.
